A few minutes ago a further crucial step was taken to boost the reliability of heat and power supply to the Moscow region"s consumers and to promote economic expansion in the capital of Russia.
The commissioning of another combined cycle gas turbine unit at CHP-21 is a joint project of Gazprom and Mosenergo - our main energy asset. The CCGT construction cost - over RUB 12 bln. These are Gazprom"s funds derived from an additional issue of shares in Mosenergo.
Gazprom"s entry into Mosenergo"s business enables to implement today a superscale investment program. Pursuant to this program, till late 2011 Mosenergo is to take into operation around 3,500 MW of new capacity.
Successful implementation of Mosenergo"s investment program will give ordinary citizens and industrial consumers of the Moscow city extra confidence that the obligations assumed by Gazprom with regard to securing reliable operation of both the Moscow and Russian power sectors will be fulfilled. Meeting these obligations is a pillar of Gazprom"s energy strategy.
